What are Community Support Services?
Our community support services help children develop the skills they need to navigate public spaces safely and confidently. Sessions take place in real-life environments such as malls, parks, or community settings.
- Community-Based Skill Building: Therapists support children during outings, helping them practice communication, emotional regulation, flexibility, and independence in everyday community situations.
- Safety & Awareness Skills: Support may focus on teaching safety-related skills such as staying close to caregivers, responding to instructions, managing impulsivity, and reducing the risk of running away in public places.
- Support During Challenging Outings: This service is particularly helpful for children who find community environments overwhelming or unpredictable, providing guidance in managing sensory input, transitions, and social expectations.
